Syrah, Boushey-McPherson Vyd., 2007
$44.00 (library)
This Yakima Valley hillside vineyard, at 1300ft elevation, is one of the highest in the valley. It is farmed by Dick Boushey, whose reputation for producing world class Syrah is already well established. Dick's expert water management produces uncommonly small berries for Syrah, concentrating the flavor and color in the wine. This fruit is usually one of the last Syrah we harvest. Excellent extended hang time produces a wine of exceptional complexity, depth and substance.
Winemaker's Notes:
Soft, silky entry with aromas of clove and cinnamon. Raspberry, and chocolate flavors; a bit of earthy, with hints of pepper and elder flower.
